God doesn't change

I don’t have to tell you that the world we live in is in a continual state of change. Everything from fashion to the weather patterns to the universe as a whole. What was in fashion yesterday is pushed to the back of the closet today. We’re seeing storms and extreme weather on the increase like never before in all of recorded history. Astrologers say the universe is expanding and the rotation of the earth is slowing.
And don’t even get me started with technology. As someone who works in the software industry, I can tell you that technology is increasing at an overwhelming rate. Businesses are being pushed to store their data and run their business processes in the cloud. If you don’t know what that means, don’t worry about it. Consumers are compelled to upgrade to the latest smartphone, laptop, or tablet every few months.
One thing we can always count on is that God never changes! He is the same today as he was yesterday.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
James 1:16-17

And I love this one: In Malachi 3:6 we read:

I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed, O sons of Jacob.

Friends, always remember that we can always count on God. He doesn’t change. His truth doesn’t change. If you ever hear something that doesn't sound quite right from someone who claims to preach the truth and what they say doesn’t line up with the teachings in the Holy Bible, then disregard what they say. If you can do so, you should point out their discrepancy to them and pray for them as well.
