The real goal

You're in the car and you're late. The person ahead of you is going really slow. You say, "Come on buddy! Step on it, I have to get to service, and the teaching is really important. It's called 'Be Still and Know that I am God'."

How often we miss the point. We find ourselves rushing anxiously because we're late. We lose our sense of peace as our behavior and attitude become less and less Christ-like. We're losing our grasp on the fruit of the Spirit because we're rushing somewhere to hear about the gifts of the Spirit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23
We might be in the ministry or have a goal to do God's will, but sometimes end up doing it in the worst possible way. How easy it is to forget the reason why we do what we do. Your real goal isn't to get to that meeting, because if it is, you'll end up with no peace, patience, and without love for others. Your goal should simply be this: To love the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself. It's just that simple.

When you're behind that really slow driver, it's okay. Just love, bless, and pray for them. That will please the Lord and that's the real goal. After all, Jesus said that the greatest two commands are about loving God and loving other people.
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
