Jesus spoke of perilous times that will occur during the last days before His return. He said the abomination that causes desolation will mark the beginning of the great tribulation, which will occur at the halfway point of the final seven year tribulation period, which will be three and a half years before Jesus returns to rule the Earth.
Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.Jesus was referring to Daniel 9:27 which says that in the middle of the final seven years, the Antichrist will set up an abomination in the Jewish temple that will cause the temple to become desolate until the Lord returns.
Matthew 24:15-21 (NASB)
According to Jesus’ prophecy, this will clearly be a dangerous time, especially for the Jews living in Judea when this event occurs. We’re not told why this event will cause the Jews living in Judea to be in danger. Perhaps the Antichrist will give his approval to drive the Jews out of Judea at that time.
What we do know is that there are hundreds of thousands of Jews who have settled in Judea, which is now known as the West Bank. If a two-state solution is ever achieved, it will most likely mean that the Jews who choose to stay in Judea, will be living under Palestinian rule. This will put them in a dangerous situation if there’s ever a Palestinian uprising to drive them out or to wipe them out.
They will be totally defenseless and have to run for their lives. Those who don’t heed Jesus’ advice will perish. Please pray for the Jews living in Judea that they will heed this warning so that they might escape sudden destruction.
God bless,
Daniel
