We need to be totally saturated with God's word. We need to have so much exposure to the holy scriptures that when the world presses in on us, we would gush forth God's word.
Don't be like the Corinthians who the Apostle Paul rebuked for not maturing spiritually.
But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready.The apostle Paul was addressing those Christians who, although God's word was preached to them, they never meditated on the word and therefore it didn't cause spiritual growth. They remained babies in the faith.
1 Corinthians 3:1-2 (ESV)
The book of Hebrews strongly rebuked its readers for not growing in righteousness. They weren't maturing in the faith because they hadn't learned the basics of Christian doctrine, which means they weren't living as God intended.
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.Do you crave the solid food of God's word? Do you seek the deeper truths that can only be found by studying and meditating on the word of God? I hope so because this world needs more mature Christians who can nurture those who are still children in their faith.
